- Camp Alphie is named for the mascot of Alpha Delta Pi. The Amarillo
alumnae of this national sorority helped start Camp Alphie.
- Alphie is a very courageous lion who meets every day with a
smile. The name Alphie comes from the first letter of the Greek
alphabet, alpha. It means "new beginning."

- There are lots of fun outdoor activities at camp each year.
Swimming and inflatable bouncers are favorites.
- Of course, arts and crafts, songs and campfires are important,
too.
- In addition, many community volunteers bring the fun to you.
Traditional favorites include:
- Western Night-ride horses and cook S'Mores over the camp
fire
- Camp Alphie Carnival-enjoy all sorts of games and contests
